Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School Semarang welcomes applications from families seeking a structured international education from Early Years to Secondary levels. The admission process is designed to be clear, transparent, and supportive, ensuring that each pupil is placed appropriately according to age, academic readiness, and available programmes.
Step 1: Enquiry and Initial Contact

At this stage, parents may also arrange a school tour to visit the campus, meet staff, and gain a better understanding of the learning environment.
Step 2: Registration Submission
Parents complete and submit the registration form with the required information and supporting documents. These may include previous school reports, identification documents, and any relevant academic records, depending on the pupil’s entry level.
Submission of an application does not guarantee placement, as admission is subject to assessment and availability.
Step 3: Assessment and Review
Applicants may be required to participate in an age-appropriate assessment or academic review. This process helps the school understand the pupil’s current level of learning and determine appropriate placement and support.
For Early Years pupils, the process may involve observation and informal interaction rather than formal testing.
Step 4: Interview and Discussion
An interview or discussion with parents and, where appropriate, the pupil may be conducted. This allows the school to clarify expectations, discuss the pupil’s needs, and ensure alignment between the family and the school’s educational approach.
Step 5: Offer of Placement

Step 6: Enrolment and Confirmation
To confirm the placement, parents complete the enrolment process and settle the required fees within the stated timeline. Once enrolment is confirmed, the school will provide information regarding school readiness, orientation, and the start of the academic programme and parents will be requested to fill in the Admission Form

Interview
Find suitable time for your child to have a conversation with the School Principal. If needed, also do the admission test to access the level of understanding in English and Maths.
The School needs to be aware of any known disability or special educational needs which may affect a child’s ability to participate in the admissions procedure and take full advantage of the education provided at the School.
Admission Offer
The school determines the appropriate grade placement of each applicant based on age, academic readiness, and available programmes. Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School Semarang welcomes children from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and values an inclusive learning community.
Following confirmation of placement, the school will prepare a fee agreement in consultation with parents. Parents will be requested to complete the required fee payment within the stated timeline and to submit the Admission Form in order to confirm enrolment as a pupil of GMIS Semarang.
Orientation
The school will organise an orientation session (formal or informal) for pupils and parents to introduce the school’s systems, faculty, curriculum, and daily routines, ensuring a smooth transition into school life.
