Home assignment Policy 2025/26
Home assignment plays an important role in extending the knowledge, understanding, and skills developed in school, as well as to sharpen skills through practices. It provides pupils with opportunities to consolidate learning, deepen understanding, and further extend their thinking beyond the classroom. As part of the learning process, pupils are encouraged to take intellectual risks, explore ideas, and apply what they have learned, while gradually developing independence in study and research skills. Teachers will set a range of home assignment tasks, and pupils may be required to access both digital and physical resources in order to complete their work effectively.
At the same time, teachers are responsible for providing clear explanations, appropriate guidance, and sufficient modelling in class to ensure that pupils understand the tasks set and are able to complete their home assignment independently. Home assignment is not intended to introduce entirely new concepts without prior teaching, but rather to reinforce, practise, or extend learning that has already taken place in school.
Pupils and parents will be informed of weekly home assignment through EduPage.
